So my Mothers of Multiples group walked with our families in the State Fair parade. On of the hottest days of the year an we are out on the pavement with all out children trying to avoid a heatstroke. As much as I wanted to do this I couldn't justify bringing the little boys. But this was really important to me. So I had an idea. We borrowed a couple of baby dolls from daycare, dressed them in the babies' clothes and stuck them in the stroller. No one could see in the little stroller so no one was the wiser. Everyone just thought that my kids were VERY quiet. So I pushed an empty stroller and Dave pulled Thor in the wagon with the water cooler.
The theme of the fair in Non Stop Fun. so we were the Non Stop Diapers group. The strollers was decorated in diaper boxes and the wagon in wipes boxes with wipe containers dragging behind. We looked good.
Thor enjoyed spraying himself and the others in our group with his water bottle and drinking from a big cup after pouring his own water out of the cooler. He also liked waving at people as we went along.
All those multiples, everyone dressed alike and who gets the most TV time?! Yep! Thor! right there on TV waving and being cute. I felt a little guilty that my singleton was getting more TV time than all the twins, but on the other hand, I loved seeing that cute little face on TV.
There was a fountain at the end of the route and as soon as we got to the end all the little kids ran and got in it. We ended up dragging Thor out of it after a good 10 minutes. He would still be in there now if it was his choice.
And when we got home, the twins were all snug and happy in their jammies and ready for bed. None the wiser and no heat stroke.
Even with the ungodly heat, we had a great time. Although after seeing myself on TV and understanding that the "camera adds 10 lbs." I have determined that there were no less than 3 cameras on me.
I have to loose the baby weight, but that is another blog. (sigh)
