Good news at perinatal today.
Baby A is 3 lb 14 ounces and is head down, head covering the exit. Feet are under my ribs and are large feet. Kidneys and Heart are functioning well.
Baby B is 4 lbs 4 ounces and his head and feet are under my ribs (yes he is folded in half). So Baby A has his brother’s rear end in his face and baby B has everyone’s feet in his.
With Baby A head down they are anticipating a normal birth as they can get B to flip once his brother is out. We got pretty decent pictures that I am attaching but A has his fingers in his mouth and B has feet in his face so they are obstructed. I think that they are both just adorable but from what I can tell B looks a lot like a handsome little boy who tried to wear his Buzz Light Year PJ top to daycare today.
They are expecting ½ pound gain a week until they get here. The doctor’s last week started talking about due date as Feb 25th as opposed to March 4 due to their size. (Yes, Darla, we know what day you are hoping for J) So doing the math in 5 weeks we are talking about roughly 6 ¼-1/2 pounds and 6 ¾-7 pounds. If we can make it to March 4 we are talking about just under 7 and 7 ¼ pounds roughly. I was hoping they would be about Thor size (8 lb 7 ounces) and was a little bummed until 2 things were pointed out. Thor cooked 2 days short of 40 weeks. These boys we are talking about cooking 36-37 weeks. So if they went as long as Thor they would be Thor’s size easily. But there is no way I could go that long or the doctor would let me. The second thing is that 14 pounds of baby is plenty to push out.
Next 2 weeks we do regular doctor and non stress test each week and then week 3 we do perinatal and non stress and regular doctor. I will keep you posted.
Love to all
Jennifer
